Auto-Correct Yourself
Jaimefit: “Welcome to today’s lesson, ‘Auto-Correct Yourself’. I came up with this idea two months ago when I was a click away from owning one of those Instagram sponsored posture correcting laptop stands. But, just like the show on Netflix, “Human Resources” by Nick Kroll (belly laughs galore!), my ‘Intuition Monster’ raised some doubts and I decided not to go with the purchase.”
Client: “Funny you say that because I’ve been thinking about that too. I feel hunched all the time now.”
Jaimefit: “Yes, me too. It’s not ideal because my business really took off with the use of ZOOM, but now I feel my posture and body paying the price. So what I do is, every 15 or 30 minutes, I stand up with my laptop to realign my posture for a moment.”
My Head: “Hold your laptop like a fresh out-the-oven pizza with your non-dominant hand to bring it to eye level. That’s a huge release for your cervical spine, neck and shoulders.”
My Lungs: “Bringing your head up also lengthens your thoracic spine which opens up your lungs. Staying rounded for too long causes disfunction in blood circulation, especially at the chest and heart.”
My Fingers: “I hold the phone or type in the computer for a few solid hours a day because I have to. But what I do while standing with my laptop is I lengthen and stretch the fingers of my dominant arm and hand. It really helps me release a lot of stress I’m holding on to.”
My Joints: “Standing up, even for a 1 minute, lengthens and strengthens all of your joints. It also helps increase blood circulation from the top to the bottom of your beautiful human body.”
Jaimefit: “I’m always looking out for your best interest. Give it a shot!”
